Ways
of Giving : Bequest Information
Following are examples of basic bequest forms. You
are strongly encouraged to discuss your intentions with the William
and Mary Gift Planning Office at the earliest stage and to engage
your own legal counsel in the drafting of your Last Will and Testament.
Specific Bequest
I give, devise, and bequeath ____% of the remaining assets of my
estate to the The College of William & Mary Foundation, a charitable corporation, to be used for
(the general support of, the Mitchell A. Byrd Chair in Conservation
Biology, the General Conservation Fund, etc.) The Center for Conservation
Biology.
I give, devise, and bequeath the sum of $____ to the
The College of William & Mary Foundation, a charitable corporation, to be used for (the general support
of, the Mitchell A. Byrd Chair in Conservation Biology, the General
Conservation

Residuary Bequest

of my estate of the The College of William & Mary Foundation, a charitable corporation, to be used
for (the general support of, the Mitchell A. Byrd Chair in Conservation
Biology, the General Conservation Fund etc.) of The Center for Conservation Biology.
Other Purposes
There are a variety of permanent endowments that may be established
through your bequest to provide support for the Center in perpetuity.
These endowments may carry your name or the name of someone you
may wish to honor or memorialize. Since many of these require minimum
funding levels, it is especially important that you consult with
the William and Mary Gift Planning Office and the Center in advance.
