SwiftWatch: Products

Site Registry
Site registration forms that are submitted to SwiftWatch will be compiled to build a range wide registry of migration roost sites. This registry will be used to investigate the characteristics of sites used for migration roosts. The registry will also be used to develop a map of known sites used for roosts during migration. This map will be presented on line at the end of the migration period, and updated annually thereafter.

Below is an example map of the downtown area of Richmond, Virginia showing the location of swift roost sites used during the period of fall migration in 1999.

Migration Database
Survey information that is submitted to SwiftWatch will be entered into a range-wide database. This database will be used to investigate the spatial and temporal dynamics of swift migration. The database will be searchable and available on line for public use.
