California Nightjar Survey Routes

Follow two-step instructions for loading and viewing routes in Google Earth:

1) Click on California Survey Routes, allow Google Earth to open,

then come back to this page and:

2) Click on California Route Starting Points. Routes appear as blue lines and starting points as a red bullseye if using the most recent version of Google Earth.

Starting point is also the first counting stop of a survey route.

Other Instructions for using the latest version of Google Earth for Nightjar Survey Routes:

Viewing a route: Nightjar Survey Routes will be stored in the "Temporary Places" folder witin the Places Panel found on the left side of the Google Earth window.

1) Click the plus (+) next to features to reveal all Nightjar Survey Routes or Nightjar Starting Points.

2) Single Click any route or starting point in your Places Panel to "pop up" name on map.

3) Double Click any route or starting point in your Places Panel to "fly" to that location within the map.

To identify a route on the map: Position cursor over route starting point of any route and single click the left mouse button. Inf\ormation on route name will appear in the "pop-up" window on the map.
