Map-viewing Directions:

Selecting routes and starting points for viewing: Routes and route starting points are sorted by geographic type. To select routes and starting points for viewing, click on the box next to a set of routes or starting points, on the right side of the window.

Zooming: Use the vertical zoom slider on the left side of the mapview to zoom in or out (+ to zoom in, - to zoom out). Double click the icons at the end of the slider to reset the zoom all the way in or out.

Moving the mapview: Click and drag with the mouse on the map to reposition the center of the mapview. Cardinal direction arrows in the upper-left corner of the mapview can also be used to move mapview in the direction of arrow.

Identifying survey routes and starting points: Position cursor over a starting point so that the cursor becomes a pointing hand. Left-click, and a bubble will pop up with routename and BBS number.

Using the Add bar: After completing a nightjar survey route, you may record your results digitally in Google Earth or Google Maps, upload it to a server if you have that capability, and add the URL here to view your map data overlayed with routes and starting points.

Please note: Route starting points appear slightly north of starting location they signify on the route. Zooming in on the route will bring the point nearer to the starting-end of the route. For faster loading, try not to turn on too many layers at once.
